We are seeking a Managing Consultant to lead efforts supporting, maintaining, and enhancing a social platform for early care and education professionals to support their work providing quality services to children and families in Head Start and other early care and education programs. Managing consultants participate in and lead a range of tasks at Mathematica, from overseeing teams or managing projects, to developing solutions for some of our clients’ most challenging problems. While the duties of the position vary depending on project assignments, most managing consultants serve in roles that require a deep understanding of policy, program and operational expertise and management skills.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the client to develop and implement program improvement strategies or technical assistance plans based on available data and subject matter expertise.
- Support, maintain, and enhance a virtual social platform used by thousands of early education professionals, encouraging a positive collaborative culture on the platform.
- Design and implement strategies to ensure the platform provides opportunities for early education professionals to share best practices, lessons learned, and core knowledge, as well as access direct support from peer-to-peer collaboration.
- Design and implement strategies to support the growth of the community engaged in the online social platform.
- Consider and manage multiple perspectives and think creatively to design solutions that meet client needs.
- Provide the initiative, direction, organization, and quality control needed to help keep work on time and on budget.
- Author or review a variety of technical assistance tools to ensure quality and facilitate program improvement such as memos, standard operating procedures, data dictionaries, implementation guides, and webinar slides.
- Engage with the client remotely and on-site (as needed) to understand goals and the challenges in supporting early education professionals virtually and work collaboratively to develop innovations and solutions to enhance the virtual social platform.
- Analyze and aggregate quantitative and qualitative data related to engagement with the platform to inform strategies, innovations, and solutions.
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure strategies, innovations, and solutions are effectively implemented.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in early childhood education, social work, psychology, public policy, sociology, education, or related field.
- 5-7 years’ experience managing complex projects or tasks. This must include at least 2 years in Head Start program management and 2 years facilitating the development of online communities.
- Demonstrated success in developing social guidelines and culture to foster a positive online community.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that result in community engagement and growth.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, aggregate, and act on qualitative and quantitative data.
- Strong interpersonal skills and skills collaborating with multiple external partners, including clear and diplomatic oral and written communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams through the project lifecycle to deliver high-quality work to our clients on time and budget.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $100,000 - $135,000.
