About the opportunity:
Mathematica is seeking an Investigations Lead to oversee and manage the planning and implementation of a process for investigating potential noncompliance with the requirements of a federal healthcare program, and to manage individual investigations of such potential noncompliance. This individual will also engage with external contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of investigation activities and proactively facilitate the communication to the client of obstacles or potential delays. Throughout the execution of these responsibilities, they will set and uphold rigorous standards for conducting investigations and preparing related reports.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the investigation functions of a project, including the review of dispensers, pharmacies, and manufacturers’ practices to ensure adherence to federal statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.
- Manages investigators and develop necessary investigation process to ensure implementation of timely, thorough, and unbiased investigations.
- Develops an investigation strategy and approach to ensure investigations are completed in accordance with contract timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborates extensively with client, partners, contractors, and external stakeholders

- This project is in the proposal stage, so if selected for hire, your employment will be contingent upon the successful award of work.
- Our team is aiming to extend a contingent offer for this role in January 2024.
- If you are offered an Investigations Lead opportunity and Mathematica is awarded the work, the anticipated start-date of this role will be June 2025.
- Work for this role is expected to be part-time (approximately 20 hours per week).
- We are accepting applications and expressions of interest from both candidates who wish to work as a regular employee of Mathematica, or as a consultant (Independent Contractor).
- If you wish to be considered an Independent Consultant, you must have your own business and be willing to as an independent contractor (not a regular-status employee).

- A bachelor's degree and minimum of ten (10) years’ experience with leading large, complex investigations in a regulatory or government setting.
- Knowledge of federal healthcare regulations, especially those related to pharmaceutical pricing and compliance with government programs.
- Organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
As an employee of Mathematica, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $125,000 and $160,000 annually. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
