We collaborate closely with public-and private-sector partners to translate big questions into deep insights that improve programs, refine strategies, and enhance understanding using data science and analytics. Our work yields actionable information to guide decisions in wide-ranging policy areas, from health, education, early childhood, and family support to nutrition, employment, disability, and international development.
We are currently recruiting self-motivated, outgoing individuals to collect data in schools for the waste study component of the Universal School Meals Program Evaluation, sponsored by the Nutrition Policy Institute. The study will collect important information from California public schools, including plate waste, solid waste, and school meal environments. Data collection will take place in approximately 60 schools spread across 20 districts in California between February through April 2024. There will be a required two-day training in late January 2024
We offer:
- Mileage and travel expense reimbursement
- Paid training on-site in Oakland, CA
Position Requirements:
- Prior field and observational experience in relation to nutrition services preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to undergo a low-level background check
- Excellent computer and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Experience working in school environments and professional settings
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to reliability and high-quality productivity
- Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week for the duration of the project
Attendance of all scheduled training sessions is required to work on the project. Project training is expected to occur January 2024.
We offer an hourly pay rate of $22
